Harrisville

Harrisville, the brick village sited between two ponds, Silverlake and Harrisville Pond, on the rushing Nubanusit River is one of the best preserved New England mill towns and has been declared a National Historic Landmark. Its former woolen mills now house Harrisville Designs, which teaches a variety of textile arts, and artist studios and galleries. Harrisville children attend the local elementary school until grade six. Older students continue their schooling elsewhere. Population: 1,107
